and I am so happy you’re here!
Licensed Mental Health Counselor | Trauma-Informed Attachment Therapist | EMDR & Couples Specialist
I am deeply committed to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. My multicultural background allows me to embrace diverse perspectives and create a therapeutic environment that honors each person’s unique identity and experience. I’m honored to support you as you take steps toward healing, mental wellness, and emotional growth.
my story
Beyond my professional role, I am a mother, sister, daughter, friend, and advocate who values authentic and meaningful relationships. As a first-generation Muslim Indian American and daughter of immigrant parents who came to the United States in the 1970s, I was raised to believe in perseverance, gratitude, and the power of hard work. I am a proud mother and mentor to two wonderful boys who inspire me to never give up and to keep growing. I’m also a devoted dog mom—my furry companion brings joy and unconditional love into my life.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting the beach, laughing with family and friends, and enjoying my latest hobby—pickleball. I believe in living a life filled with purpose, connection, and kindness.
my values in the therapy room
COMMITMENT • ADAPTABILITY • DETERMINATION
I founded Moon Water Therapy as a place where depth, compassion, and emotional honesty come together. A practice that invites people to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and find peace again, even in uncertain seasons.
My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to addressing trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety and depression. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and AFTT-A (Attachment Focused Trauma Therapy For Adults) and I integrate these modalities when appropriate.
Through EMDR and AFTT-A, I help clients process and transform the impact of past or present trauma, build resilience, and develop emotional balance. These evidence-based therapies use structured techniques to desensitize and reprocess distressing memories and negative beliefs, reducing symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and depression while reshaping how past experiences are stored in the brain. In my experience as an EMDR and AFTT-A trained therapist, I have witnessed powerful outcomes—clients often report a stronger connection between mind and body, healthier boundaries, improved relationships, increased self-esteem, and meaningful personal growth.
In addition to EMDR and AFTT-A, I incorporate Gottman Method Therapy to support couples in communication and relational connection. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and other tailored interventions to empower each client in their healing journey.
